NWSB Bank Shares Coat Drive Success
NWSB Bank’s seven community banking offices embraced the 30th Annual Call for Coats, organized by The Shepherd’s Staff, by serving as collection sites where customers and local residents could drop off donations of new and gently used outerwear for infants through adults. Call for Coats was held from September 25 through November 17. The Shepherd’s Staff will distribute the outerwear free of charge to Carroll County residents throughout the cold winter months.
According to Brenda Meadows, Executive Director of The Shepherd’s Staff, “Call for Coats was a huge success this year and, as a result, approximately 5,000 coats will be distributed this winter. We appreciate the support of NWSB Bank’s customers and staff members who have embraced this community-wide effort to help those less fortunate in our community.”
NWSB Bank exceeded the established goal of 60 coats by collecting 173 coats this year! The Eldersburg Office collected the most items with 53 coats, 11 scarves, 9 pairs of gloves, 2 hats and 1 pair of ear warmers.
