NWSB Helping Hands
One thing we know for sure is we are all stronger when we are committed to each other and lend a helping hand. That's why NWSB Bank is proud to launch a special initiative - NWSB Helping Hands. This project was created in response to the COVID-19 crisis, to help our community at this challenging time.
"We’re here for our community. NWSB Helping Hands will provide at least 1,000 meals to those in need while also supporting our local restaurant customers. As a division of ACNB Bank, our employees along with others in our footprint, have raised more than $13,000 in support. Combined with the Bank’s commitment of $40,000, Helping Hands will have a tremendous impact on our shared communities across Maryland and Pennsylvania.”
- Tom N. Rasmussen, ACNB Bank EVP/Maryland Market President.
Helping Local Restaurant Customers and People In Need
Together we are providing more than 1,000 meals
Locally owned restaurants make our communities unique and bring joy to many of us. But the restaurant community has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. That's why NWSB Bank has made a core contribution to help local restaurant customers and those in need.
To kick off the program we've partnered with NWSB Bank food service customers to supply meals to community organizations. Not only is this a helping hand to our restaurant customers, it's a helping hand to local organizations.
So far we're proud to have partnered with Buttersburg Inn and Bess and Ben’s County Kitchen Restaurant to provide meals to Together We Own It.
A Team Full of Helping Hands
Thanks to the more than 100 employees who contributed to our Helping Hands initiative. Together we contributed more than $13,000 to help others in our community. Combined with the Bank's contribution this has tremendous impact for our local businesses and neighbors.
Other Helping Hands Projects
Cards of Hope is Joy Delivered
This is a hard time to be away from family. When our team heard some local seniors were in need of a little cheer, they decided to make and send cards to long-term care facilities. Together we made more than 200 cards and delivered to local facilities and through meal distribution programs.
Personal Protective Equipment Donated to Local Healthcare Facilities
NWSB Bank recently donated personal protective equipment (PPE) to healthcare facilities in the Bank’s market area in response to the unprecedented need during the global coronavirus pandemic.
“I could not be more proud of my colleagues and these local restaurants and caterers for their commitment and passion for this effort. Working together, we are serving our neighbors and supporting our communities during this critical time.”
- James P. Helt, ACNB Bank President & Chief Executive Officer
